CHAPTER 01 · WHERE IT STARTED
From Mendoza to New York.
My story begins in Mendoza, Argentina, where, from a young age, I developed a passion for cooking and for sharing good moments around a table.
In 2009, I arrived in New York full of hope, ready to work, and dreaming of building a better future. In those early years, I worked in different bakeries across the city, learning, growing, and working hard every day until I achieved something that once seemed far away: opening my own restaurant.
CHAPTER 02 · THE DREAM THAT CONNECTS US
A story worth carrying forward.
But the story of Klandestino goes beyond my own journey. It also begins with my father, who had the opportunity to come to the United States in the 1980s but was ultimately unable to fulfill that dream. His story remained unfinished, like a dream waiting for another chance.
Over time, I came to understand that, in a way, it was my turn to carry that legacy forward and turn that unfinished dream into something of my own.
That is how Klandestino was born. Its name honors that family history, the dreams left along the way, and the strength of those who keep going to make them come true.
On July 22, 2022, we opened our doors in Queens, New York, beginning a new chapter filled with challenges, learning, and hope.
“It is the chance to fulfill a dream while keeping alive the dreams of those who came before us.”
CHAPTER 03 · OUR TABLE TODAY
Three cultures. One shared passion.
Today, Klandestino is a family restaurant where three culinary cultures we love come together: Argentina, Mexico, and Italy.
Our kitchen brings together traditional Argentine flavors, with dishes such as asado and milanesas; the freshness and variety of Mexican cooking, with our tacos, quesadillas, and nachos; and Italian classics, including pastas and their sauces.
Every day, we work to offer quality ingredients, premium meats, and dishes prepared with care. We believe a good meal begins with good ingredients and tastes even better when it is shared.
